Appleby's and Pure Spirit Drinks, both Shropshire businesses, hosted a cheese and whisky workshop, on behalf of Slow Food, on the first evening of Ludlow Food Festival.

Awaken Your Taste Sensations: Cheese and Whisky?!

Cheese and whisky enthusiasts were invited to explore the taste sensation of matching their fine products.  Appleby's supplied Appleby's Cheshire, Appleby's Double Gloucester and Appleby's Smoked, at varying age and taste profiles, to savour alongside Tullibardine 1993, Scapa 1993, Glenturret (10 Y.O.) and Glengoyne (17 Y.O.) supplied by Pure Spirit Drinks.  The evening was well attended and provided an opportunity for the Appleby's and Pure Spirit Drinks to showcase their specialist products during the "foodie" weekend. Christine Appleby commented: "We thoroughly enjoyed the cheese and whisky evening and hope that this may encourage cheese followers to experiment with slightly more unconventional accompaniments; I can certainly recommend cheese and whisky!".
