Appleby’s Smoked Cheese Rounds with Chive Butter

Appleby’s Smoked cheese rounds are ideally served as canapés, but are equally delicious as an indulgent snack! The delicate smoked flavour from the Appleby’s Smoked infuses the pastries with a distinct, mouth-watering flavour that will leave you wanting more!

Appleby’s Smoked Cheese Rounds with Chive Butter

Ingredients:

175g Plain Flour

100g Butter

100g Appleby’s Smoked

1 Egg Yolk

100g Butter and Chives

 

To make the pastry:

1.  Sieve flour and rub in the butter until it resembles fine breadcrumbs

2.  Stir in grated cheese, egg yolk and a little water (if needed)

3.  Roll out and cut out ½ inch rounds to line mini tartlet tins

4.  Bake in preheated oven (190 degrees C)

 

Filling:

Once the cooked pastry has cooled mix up butter with chopped chives and pipe it into the pastry cases.
