Terms & Conditions

If you wish to cancel your order, you must write to us via email before you receive the email to say the order has been fulfilled. We cannot cancel any orders after the order is fulfilled.

Unfortunately, we are not able to deliver orders placed through the website to addresses outside of the UK or in the Republic of Ireland.

We can currently only post out orders on a Monday and Tuesday, so it maytake 7 working days for your order to arrive with you.

Our products:

Products and their packaging may vary slightly from pictures. The images

used are to best portray our cheeses, but they are also for marketing purposes.

We will do our best to ensure we fulfil your order, but in some circumstances, products can become out of stock during the processing of your order meaning we cannot fulfil. If this is the case, we will contact you and ask if you would like to amend the order or remove that product completely.

We cannot substitute your order and if there is a problem with your order you need to contact us immediately so we can attempt to rectify. We don’t issue refunds, only in exceptional circumstances.

Delivering your products:

We use Parcel Force for our deliveries and your products will arrive chilled. We will do our best to get our products to you as soon as possible but we cannot guarantee days or timings. Since most of our products are perishable, we always require the parcel tobe signed for upon delivery. If you have any questions or issues with your delivery, it is best to contact us as a first point of call.

If delivery is delayed, then we or our courier company will contact you to let you know and we will attempt to minimise the effect of the delay

The product will be your responsibility from the time we deliver the product to the address you gave us or in accordance with the alternative delivery instruction you gave to the delivery company or us to instruct them. You own the product once we have accepted your order and received payment in full.

How we ensure quality:

We pride ourselves on quality products here at Appleby’s and we want to ensure they get to you in top condition.

We ask that when you receive your order, you open it right away. Please then carefully check your products and ensure your order is correct. If you aren’t happy with what you find, please call us, and if possible, take some pictures. We will always do everything we can to put it right. If you’d like areplacement order, we can send that out for you or if you would rather just have your money back, we can do that too. Please do not contact us with problems any later than one day after delivery as we cannot help after this point.

What rights do you have as a consumer?

As one of our consumers, we are under a legal duty to supply products that are in conformity with the contract.

You do have the right for a refund if the products that arrive are not as described or have been damaged in transit.

When we do need to make a refund, it will be as follows:

for the price you paid for the products. However, we may reduce your refund to reflect any reduction in the value of the products caused by your mishandling of them.

refund any delivery costs you have paid, although, as permitted by law, the maximum refund will be the costs of delivery by the least expensive delivery method we offer refunds can take 14 days to process refunds made to you will be made in the same way payment was taken

Do we make changes to the website and products?

We may update our website and these terms and conditions from time to time and may change the content at any time. We do not guarantee that our website, or any content on it, will be free from errors or omissions. We are also entitled to change the price of our products at any time and at our discretion.

Governing law

These terms are governed by English law and you can bring legal proceedings in respect of the products in the English courts. If you live in Scotland, you can bring legal proceedings in respect of the products in either the Scottish or the English courts. If you live in Northern Ireland, you can bring legal proceedings in respect of the products in either the Northern Irish or the English courts.
